Adoration

You kissed my knee caps
Crouched in front of me
And I lowered my eyes to meet yours.

“Never kneel before me,”
You say, as you lower yourself
down, gently but not weak.

You press kisses to my feet and
your eyes rise up to meet mine.
Calculated hesitation, but not unsure.

Straightening up,
with your hands gripping my thighs,
you speak:

“Especially, if I don’t bow down
to meet you first.”

For a moment,

the world doesn’t turn.

My breath hitches,
and you smirk.
